The  Bangalow Billycart Derby is held every May, and attracts hundreds of competitors and thousands of spectators  who cram into our main street in a festival of enthusiasm.

According to Event organiser Tony Heeson, “The whole of Bangalow and most of the people on the Northern Rivers really come to support our billycart derby. It’s such a good friendly fun family day for everyone.”

The main street of Bangalow swells for the Billycart derby, “There’s probably between 8000 and 10000 people here and it’s so fair because age or social status don’t really make any difference to participation, people just enjoy coming for the good old fashion fun and the outdoors,” Mr Heeson said.
